SEE HOW A NEW SMILE CHANGES LIVES

In December 2015, we announced the “Reason to Smile” contest and received over two hundred applicants. While each entry was unique and deserving, we could only select one. After interviewing the top ten, we selected two winners instead of one!

Sheri loves her new smile

When Sheri smiled before her makeover, she would purposely keep her mouth shut hiding her missing tooth, uneven spacing, darkened tooth, and other issues. Once Dr. Langan developed the treatment plan which included periodontal scaling to improve bone and gum health, cosmetically-focused orthodontics, a tooth extraction, bone and tissue grafting, a dental implant placement, porcelain veneers, and crowns, Sheri could smile again. What a transformation!

Tami’s new smile has restored her confidence

Tami had a ten year old ill-fitting partial denture which had caused bone loss and calculus buildup on the remaining teeth. There were missing teeth and broken teeth on the top and bottom. Dr. Langan replaced Tami's missing and broken teeth using a combination of dentures and implant retained dentures. The upper arch is a traditional denture with premium cosmetic upgrades and the lower arch is a dental implant-retained overdenture.

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is an appliance used to replace the roots of teeth. The implant is surgically attached to the jaw bone and an artificial tooth is attached to the top of the implant, creating a natural looking, undetectable replacement for the missing tooth.

Dental implants with artificial teeth are the closest thing to regrowing your natural teeth. They are strong, stable, durable and virtually undetectable. By filling gaps left by missing teeth, implants can provide better chewing ability and head off jaw joint problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is getting a dental implant worth it?

Your teeth were designed to last a lifetime, but sometimes they don’t! Replacing missing teeth is important to your general health and to the health of your other teeth. Not only do you lose chewing ability when a tooth is lost, but unreplaced teeth can cause other teeth to be lost, tipped or crowded and create subsequent problems.

Also, there are the obvious problems of poor appearance and loss of self-esteem caused by one or more missing teeth. Dental implants should always be considered as an option to replace a failing or missing tooth. Replacement of lost teeth with dental implants has been used for treating missing teeth for more than 50 years and is recognized as an effective treatment choice.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Implant patients are of all ages and implants may be the right choice for anyone missing one or more teeth due to injury, disease or decay. They are especially practical for patients who can no longer wear removable dentures. Dr. Langan can determine if you are a candidate for dental implants after a careful evaluation of your dental and medical history.

How long does a dental implant last?

Nothing lasts forever, but for most patients 45 years or older a dental implant will last for life. The implant itself won't typically need replacement but the crown or cap placed on the appliance may need restoration or replacement every 10-15 years.

How long does the process take?

Treatment time can vary greatly depending on your needs. Most dental implant treatment can be completed between 4-12 months but some can be even faster. If the implant is stable enough from the outset, some dental implants can be restored immediately. Each situation needs a separate evaluation; Dr. Langan will be able to give you an approximate timetable.

Will I lose anything by coming in for the free consultation?

Of course not. The consultation is completely free of charge. We are limited in how many consultations we can schedule during any given period, so make sure to schedule yours as soon as possible. You’ve got nothing to lose.

Will my insurance cover cosmetic dentures?

Our wonderful staff will work with you to see if your insurance company will cover the dental implant procedure. If for any reason it's not covered, we will let you know and will work with you to develop a financial plan if needed. Our patients often tell us that it's completely worth the investment of their time and money to permanently replace their missing teeth with dental implants.

Why is 3D imaging important?

Accuracy in dental implant placement is paramount because of the vital structures located throughout the head and neck. Dr. Langan has invested in the newest technology that gives us the exclusive ability to accurately diagnose and treatment plan dental implants. The combination of our Sirona Cerec AC with Omnicam and Sirona XG 3D CT scanner allows us to virtually scan and design a dental implant before ever beginning the actual procedure. This assures the highest level of safety for our patients. This plan can even be made into a guided surgical template to ensure a dental implant can be placed into the precisely position easily and quickly.

What payment options are available?

Yes, ask our office about financing options or payment plans. CareCredit® offers reasonable interest rates for patients who need to finance their dental care.

We also work with LendingClub® patient financing to provide affordable patient financing options.
